Benefit 'Gimme Brow' Tinted Brow Gel - Review

Before I get into the deets about my new favourite brow gel, I must first apologise to all of you who clicked on 'Beauty and the Budget' expecting a blog which would maybe encourage you to save money by not buying expensive beauty products because in this post, I feel I have failed you. But, before you click the little 'x' in the top right hand corner, I have to tell you that this stuff is good, like really good..

When I first opened up the cute little pink polka dot box that houses my brow's new best friend, I have to admit the size of the product made me feel a bit hard done by, a round tube just as long as my little finger. Perhaps not the best value for money product out there but a very effective one nevertheless. A quick twist of the lid reveals a mini mascara wand which allows you to reach all those brow hairs without missing any.

Part of the reason that I really love this brow gel is the shade that I have which is 'light' is the perfect colour for me, it's not too orange toned or warm with a grey undertone. I believe Benefit have only one other shade offering in a 'medium' darker colour which I think should cater for those of use with brown or black hair but maybe for the blonde haired gals among us, the 'light' tone may be a little too dark but definitely do a little back of the hand swatch to see first.

A quick brush of the wand thought my brows leaves them much thicker, fuller and it fills in those little 'bald patches' that I somehow managed to of accumulated over the years but my brows still look natural, not over done at all. The gel formula although it can feel a little thick on your brows which some might not like does keep all those pesky brows hair in line, a must me for me and my unruly above the eye friends.. Once I've done my brows up with a bit of this stuff, they do seem to stay pretty much in place for most of the day which I must say I'm pretty impressed by.

So whether you're after a setting gel for taming your brows after filling them in or your looking for like me, one product which will give you thicker, fuller brows with very little skill, Benefit have really made a good'un here and although the price is slightly eye watering for such a small mount of product, I do think it is worth a little splurge. But if you still can't bring yourself to hand over the cash, I have actually bought the MUA dupe for this which comes in at a much more affordable £2. I'm giving that stuff a little road test at the moment so be sure to check in for a review of that if you have a little more control of your purse than I do!

  3. Rimmel have made a dupe of this which I think is pretty good for the price! I have both and I like both formulas equally, but the rimmel brush is bigger but well worth the extra effort if your saving pennies :) xx

    1. I was actually about to buy that in Boots the other day but I'd already bought the MUA version so I had top stop myself from buying 3 brow gels haha! But I will definitely have a look at that as the MUA version isn't quite the right colour but thanks for the recommendation :) xx
